Position Overview

A leading provider of diesel engine and equipment repair components is seeking a Parts Counter Sales Specialist to support a high-volume parts and service operation in Fort Lauderdale.


This role is responsible for driving parts sales across multiple verticals including marine, on-highway, industrial, and other diesel applications. In addition to parts sales, this individual will support the service operation by writing work orders and helping coordinate activity within the FIE shop.


This is a hybrid role combining sales, operations support, and customer interaction. Success requires urgency, mechanical curiosity, and the ability to translate customer needs into revenue while keeping service work flowing.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support walk-in, phone, and account-based parts sales across all business verticals
  • Identify and source parts for a wide range of diesel applications, not limited to marine
  • Drive revenue through upselling, cross-selling, and proactive customer engagement
  • Build relationships with technicians, fleet customers, and repeat buyers
  • Write and manage service orders for the FIE shop (approximately 30% of role)
  • Coordinate between customers, parts inventory, and service technicians to ensure timely job completion
  • Track open orders, manage backorders, and maintain clear customer communication
  • Process orders, invoicing, and system transactions accurately
  • Maintain an organized, professional, and efficient counter environment


What We’re Looking For


  • Experience in parts sales, counter sales, or inside sales within diesel, automotive, heavy-duty, or related industries
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand parts applications across multiple verticals
  • Comfortable balancing sales responsibilities with service order coordination
  • Strong communication skills with both customers and internal teams
  • Ability to operate with urgency in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with follow-through
  • Experience with parts systems, ERP, or shop management systems is a plus
