Business Development Representative
Medium and Heavy Duty Diesel Market
Southeast Territory
A leading provider of premium diesel engine repair components is seeking a Business Development Representative to drive growth across the Southeast.
This role is responsible for developing relationships with key customers and expanding market share across the medium and heavy duty diesel market. The Business Development Representative will identify new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer partnerships, and achieve territory sales and margin objectives aligned with company strategic initiatives.
This position reports to the Director of Medium and Heavy Duty Sales and requires frequent travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred candidate location is the Southern Florida area for territory coverage that includes Florida, Western GA, Alabama and Mississippi.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel within assigned customer accounts
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the medium and heavy duty diesel market
- Achieve assigned sales and margin targets through both new account development and growth of existing relationships
- Coordinate internal resources including technical support, warranty, marketing, and customer service to support account objectives and customer expectations
- Develop and execute account planning strategies that align with company growth initiatives
- Attend industry meetings, trade events, and training programs to remain current on market developments
- Maintain accurate customer and pipeline information within the company CRM system
- Report sales performance and provide feedback to internal sales and marketing teams using available data and analytics
- Maintain records and report expenses according to company policy
- Perform additional duties and assignments as required
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Experience in sales, product knowledge, and customer relationship management within the diesel or commercial transportation industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer focused mindset
- Ability to manage time effectively and organize territory activities
- Experience using Microsoft tools including Excel and Outlook as well as CRM systems
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal teams
Travel Requirements
This position requires approximately 50 percent travel within the assigned territory.
